Untuk kandang perlu dilengkapi dengan wadah pakan dan minum. Pilihlah wadah berbahan plastik agar mudah dibersihkan dan tidak pecah terinjak-injak. Khusus untuk minum, wadah plastik dapat ditaruh di luar kandang

tenggeran untuk rehat dan tidur. Bahan tenggeran terbuat dari kayu yang
besarnya disesuaikan denganukuran jari kaki. Cocok tidaknya diameter tenggeran dapat dilihat dari cengkeraman jari kaki ayam. Bila ukurannya sesuai jari-jari kaki tampak meregang lemas seolah tidak mencengkeram. Tenggeran diletakkan di tengahtengah antara pintu kandang dengan salah satu sisi supaya klangenan tetap leluasa bergerak. Ketinggian tenggeran dapat diatur sesuai ukuran ayam, tapi biasanya ditaruh 50 cm dari dasar kandang. Tak kalah penting, tempatkan lampu penerangan di kandang. Lampu menjadi vital saat musim penghujan tiba. Saat itu suhu turun sehingga ayam butuh kehangatan. Penerangan juga penting ketika pemilik akan mengontrol pada malam hari.
